What is your cause? What inspires you to care more, to help more and to make more money so that you can make a difference? This past weekend, I was once again reminded of why it matters to build a business that provides me with a surplus of money so I can give to the causes I am passionate about.
The 24hour relay to raise money for cancer research and continue the fight for a cure was in my town this past weekend. I came together with a number of businesses in my community to donate everything from plane tickets, to restaurant vouchers to gift certificates to my artwork to support the volunteers and the participants.
I love the feeling of giving and how it fills my heart. What was even more incredible was the community feeling of togetherness and possibility.
I had the pleasure of meeting the event’s top fundraiser just before I left. Let me tell you a little bit about her…
…her name is Ashley Clarke and she raised just over $6000 on her own.
She organized car washes, promoted them on the radio and also went door to door to collect donations. She was able to rally people to help her fundraise for a cause she believed in. She was able to market and enroll others in her story and her mission. Her energy was so pure, so contagious and inspiring. Ashley is just 13 years old.
What is your cause? What is your drive to make more money so that you can help more? I am not 13 anymore, and I don’t have the time to fundraise door to door, but I do have my business and my gift as a business coach.
What is your gift? How are you going to create a business that helps you make more so that you can give more? How do you do this without working more or being too exhausted to enjoy or connect with moments like what happened this past weekend? Moments like when this brave 13 year old girl stepped to the mic and took the breath away of so many people when she said she did this for her uncle that she lost to cancer this past year.
The answer is leverage. Finding a business model that leverages your time, your money and your talents means you make more money so that you give more, you can reach more people with your gifts and you can have more time freedom to be there with all your heart supporting the causes you are passionate about.
So take the gift you have to share with the world, figure out the cause you are passionate about, and then apply the right leveraged business model that gives you an abundance of money and time to be connected.
